Mehnaz Aslam joined Aura in 2011 and brings with her a combined experience of dental assisting and admin management for over 10 years. Northern Virginia has been home to Mehnaz for 17 years. She obtained her Associates from Northern Virginia Community College and is currently attending Strayer University. She has always possessed an interest for making a difference in the health industry and after graduating from High School was headed in the direction to become a pharmacist, till she started a summer job at a dental office as a part-time scheduling coordinator. There she tapped into her deep-rooted passion for the field of Dentistry. This motivation sent her on a path to become a Dental Assistant, doing chair-side assisting and introduced her administrative side of the business, initially as a floating scheduling coordinator. Rest is history, but now she runs the daily affairs of the practice as an Office Manager and is the backbone of its success. She takes immense pride in her job and strives to provide outstanding patient service; every patient, every time. Mehnaz, is happily married, has a beautiful daughter and resides in Alexandria, VA.
Nico is a Northern Virginia native and attended Stone Bridge High School in Ashburn, VA. He has over 5 years of dental assistant experience. He completed his dental assistant course at ACT college and received his X-ray certification. Nico joined Aura Dentistry in 2013 as our Dental Assistant. His best attributes are giving our patients the best care possible and provide them comfort and ease during their dental procedures. In his spare time, Nico enjoys watching basketball and spending quality time with his family and friends.
Hera was born in Hong Kong, China and lived there until elementary school before moving to the United States. She currently resides in Alexandria, Virginia. Hera attended George Mason University for her pre-requisite courses and graduated with a bachelors from the dental hygiene program at Virginia Commonwealth University. Hera is a friendly and hardworking individual. She enjoys playing piano and ultimate Frisbee in her spare time. Working closely with patients to help them grasp the connection between systemic diseases and oral health gives her a great sense of accomplishment.
