I grew up absolutely terrified of dentists! I remained terrified of dentists and dentistry most of my adult life. I also recall painful experiences with an orthodontist. For many years I simply ignored the basics of good dental hygiene. Tooth decay, many abscess issues, root canal treatment, crowns, all saw me seek treatment only when the pain became too great and only when treatment was essential. All dental treatment caused genuine emotional stress, fear. I learned how to avoid smiling, to avoid embarrassment.
I walked in to see Dr. Tehrani and Dr. Yi after experiencing extreme tooth pain as a result of a failing Root canal under a three unit bridge. From that first visit, through a full mouth reconstruction that involved extractions, bone grafts, numerous implants and which transpired over 18 months, two highly skilled doctors and a wonderful staff quickly earned my trust. Their approach, dental skills, and their gentle touch put me at ease on the very first visit and established within days a level of total comfort and confidence, something I had never experienced before in a dentist office. The two doctors, the dental assistants, the hygienists, and the remarkable staff at the Aura Center for Dentistry were outstanding in all regards. We became friends, I trusted them and the fears noted above disappeared. That is remarkable given my dental history and experiences.
They provided me with a finished new mouth, implants where needed and crowns as needed. The work done is unbelievable and with my beautiful white teeth, I had to learn how to smile again, opening my mouth and exposing my teeth—my “Hollywood smile” as my wife calls it. The work done was truly exceptional and the finished product… remarkable. The fear is gone, a seriously infected tooth and gum issue is completely resolved, I have a new mouth and I have found the dental care I trust and respect for years to come.

My family has been going to Dr. Tehrani since she and her husband opened the McLean practice 2-3 years ago. She is an excellent dentist; professional, personable and really expert in her field. She uses all the latest equipment (my kids love having their teeth cleaned now!) I was really impressed with the work she did on the 2 crowns I needed. As an added bonus, her office is top of the line, too. Nespresso machine, munchies, flat screen TV, DVDs to watch during your treatment (watch hers or bring your own). Who could ask for more? I've been recommending her to all my family and friends.

“A humiliating experience as a young boy left me terrified of dentists. That being said, I didn’t visit a dentist in many years. As a result, I ended up with cracked, broken and missing teeth. My pastor told me and my wife about Dr. Yi and his staff. My wife went first and I was shocked and amazed at how kind and loving the staff was. They even called back that night to check on her. When I went in I was scared to open my mouth for fear of what they would see. They were so comforting as they assured me that it would take a lot of time and work, but we could do it. After root canals, extractions, and replacements they changed my life forever. For the first time in over ten years I can openly smile. My attitude and outlook on life has changed. The staff is so loving and friendly; they take the time to not just know your name, but to know you and your interests. I actually, love going to my dentist NOW. Dr. Tehrani is the perfect dentist, everything a patient could want talented, knowledgeable, professional and warm. Her enthusiasm for her practice and her patients is the reason I have been a patient for so many years and I continue to be even coming back to see her after I've moved!
